St. Cloud State University students from UTVS, Husky Productions and KVSC were recently honored by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts.
UTVS was honored with an award of excellence for their production on St. Cloud TEDx2024 in the fall, while Huskies Productions also achieved an award of excellence for video sports live game production for their submission from the St. Cloud State vs. Boston College Men’s Hockey series.

Rickie Bruno of KVSC earned an award of excellence for the promo HighArt Radio, and Alex Fern and the KVSC sports department placed third in the play by play talent category for their work on the Men’s Hockey broadcast against Nebraska Omaha in December.
“The BEA is the preeminent international organization devoted to the work of student broadcasters,” KVSC Station Manager Dan Seeger said. “To see so many SCSU students honored by their annual awards is a real testimony to the opportunities the school offers and the talents that devote their time to our student-led media organizations.”
The competition had nearly 2,300 entries from over 300 participating schools this year.
