The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in June 2015 named St. Cloud State a Center for Academic Excellence for its Center for Information Assurance Studies, putting the University in the elite company of just 180 other schools in the country including Dartmouth, Rice and the University of Minnesota.
St. Cloud State’s program is unique for its focus on managerial and usage implications of information assurance along with coverage of technical aspects, including computer forensics, cryptology, database security and more. Graduates land jobs as security officers, forensic investigators and security analysts along with many other cyber security related positions in the public and private sectors.
Gifts to the Herberger Business School and the information assurance program and scholarship funds have helped power academic excellence.
