Students in St. Cloud State’s Mass Communications program continue to build its reputation as one of the Midwest’s best. In the most recent Broadcast Education Association student awards, St. Cloud State scored 1st Place awards for Television Feature Reporting (Meghan Reistad and Emilio Ramos De Jesus, “Giving by the Gallon”); Television Newscast (UTVS News en Espanol); Television Newscast (UTVS News) and TV Sports Event Production (Husky Productions).

UTVS is a student-run station that broadcasts on the St. Cloud area Charter cable system. The UTVS News crew includes nearly 25 students. Its Husky Productions division broadcasts Huskies Athletics events. Fox Sports North broadcast several Huskies Hockey games last season using Huskies Productions and its crew made up entirely of St. Cloud State students.
