St. Cloud Times — A room of students and a lawmaker discussed sexual assault and consent policies this week at St. Cloud State University.
Rep. Erin Murphy, DFL-St. Paul, brought her push for an affirmative consent mandate to the school Wednesday at the request of the College Democrats student organization. She previously led conversations on the topic in Moorhead and Morris.
The main subject at hand Wednesday was Murphy’s plan to again introduce a bill in the House in the spring session. It would require all schools in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to adopt sexual violence policies that include “a provision that establishes an affirmative consent standard.”
