About 50 women connected with 30 mentors at Mentor Morning, an event designed to connect young women with professional mentors from the community.
The event was presented by Times Media Jan. 26 at St. Cloud State University with support from St. Cloud State, St. Cloud Federal Credit Union, Marco Inc. and the Greater St. Cloud Development Corp.
KARE-TV news anchor Diana Pierce gave the opening address, after which participants had a chance to network with the 30 mentors in attendance.
Several St. Cloud State departments supported the event with time, energy and funds including:
- Athletics
- Center for Continuing Studies
- School of Graduate Studies
- Herberger Business School
- Student Life and Development
- University Communications
Student Life and Development Vice President Wanda Overland provided the welcome address and served as a mentor.
Athletic Director Heather Weems and Assistant Dean of Students Jen Sell Matzke ’96 served as mentors. MBA Program Director Gretchen Huwe ’00 ’13 and Continuing Studies staff members Tammy Anhalt-Warner ’83, Kyle Knudtson ’06 ’12 ’14, Roxanne Neu and Elizabeth Valencia-Borgert ’01 staffed the St. Cloud State booths and assisted attendees.
Staff from Campus Involvement provided holders for the mentor pictures, the Atwood Memorial Center staff prepared the meeting room and students from the departments of campus involvement, athletics and continuing studies served as greeters.
