A St. Cloud State University alumnus will be a keynote speaker at one of the nation’s top business schools.
Walid Issa ’13 ’15 will speak at Harvard Business School’s Economic Prosperity for Peace Conference April 3 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Issa is a senior adviser at Shades Negotiation Program in Minneapolis, a unique platform for negotiation and leadership training and practice engaging promising mid-career men and women in the Middle East.
The second annual conference entitled “Prosperity for Peace: Reshaping the Arab-Israeli-Palestinian Reality through Innovation, Cooperation and Constructive Dialogue,” aims to explore the role that the private sector can play in building and promoting economic prosperity for Arabs and Israelis alike as a catalyst for regional stability and cooperation.
The conference will explore how entrepreneurship, infrastructure development, skills-based training and education play an important role in laying the groundwork for an eventual and sustainable peace in the region.
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) honored Issa with the Welter World Citizen Award in 2014, a scholarship given for practicing his belief in being a citizen of the world, appreciating differences and helping others without looking at their color, race or religion.
He was selected by St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III to receive the 2014 Minnesota Campus Compact President’s Student Leadership Award, given to a student who models a deep commitment to civic responsibility and leadership.
