Two St. Cloud State University nursing students have been recognized by the St. Cloud Hospital for their excellence in the field.
The St. Cloud Hospital Research Committee recognized Nghi Vuong ’16, Vietnam, with a 10th annual Nursing Research and Scholarly Activity Award. The award is given to recognize nursing accomplishments in research and evidence-based practice. Vuong was the lead on a student group project “Teach Back” for the St. Cloud Hospital.
“Nghi is very thorough with her research and bases her decisions on the data she collects. She is very deserving of this award,” said Joyce Simones, professor of Nursing.
Courtney Bevans, Sartell, has earned the first $500 Linda A. Chmielewski Nursing Scholarship for demonstrating qualifications through references, work experience and professional nursing goals and achievements.
The scholarship is used directly for financial aid. Bevans is slated to graduate in December 2017.
“Courtney will be successful in her nursing career due to her genuine care and concern for patients and their families,” Simones said.
