St. Cloud Times — Dancing and singing abound in the on-stage production of GREAT Theatre’s “Sister Act.”
The 30-member cast, made up mostly of women in habit, bring Whoopi Goldberg’s movie to life. The cast tell the story of Deloris, a woman who witnesses a murder and seeks refuge in the witness protection program. She is placed in a convent for her safety and there shares her talents and turns the convent’s truly terrible chorus into an on-stage sensation.
“It’s very joyful music, the music is just rockin’, it’s a lot of fun,” said Director Tamara McClintock ’75.
Among other St. Cloud State folk in the production are Choreographer Debra Leigh, faculty member and CARE lead organizer, and Brad Busse ’99 as Monsignor O’Hara.
The show runs through Sept. 25 at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud.
