Communication Sciences and Disorders Associate Professor Theresa Estrem has been selected for a Fulbright Specialist Grant to conduct a joint autism research project with faculty and students at the Universidad de Concepción.

In addition to the research, Estrem will give conferences to the Phonoaudiology Department, the School of Medicine and allied professionals and collaborate with a team of educators from the Departamento de Educación, Municipalidad de Concepción on a new project related to the integration of children with autism into the public schools.
The grant covers her travel costs and an honorarium.
The Fulbright Specialist Grant program is administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State with the cooperation of World Learning. It is a unique opportunity for U.S. academics and established professionals to engage in two- to six-week consultancies at host institutions across the globe. Fulbright’s mission is to build capacity and promote long-lasting linkages between individuals and institutions in the U.S. and abroad.
