Morrison County Record — After Kris Erickson, 54, of Little Falls survived a 2002 diagnosis of melanoma, she realized it was time for a change. It was time for a new career.
She had worked at Northway Oil, an oil distribution company in Little Falls for more than 30 years. It was a family business she and her husband, Marc, took over from his parents after working there for a few years straight out of high school, Erickson said.
“I had always wanted to be an attorney,” she said.
Because of the extensive education that is needed to become an attorney, Erickson decided to enroll in a communications class at St. Cloud State University. She wanted to see if she really wanted to study and if she could handle it before she committed to a whole program.
