Former St. Cloud State University wrestler Jacob R. “Jake” Horn ’13 turned to motorcycles when he landed a job with Polaris.
Graduating from St. Cloud State in May 2013 with a degree in electrical engineering and a minor in optics, Horn wasted no time getting hired by Polaris.
He began working for Polaris as an associate electrical engineer in their engineering rotation program (EDP). Through the program, he works on 6-month-long projects around the state.
His first rotation was in Wyoming, Minn., where he worked as a software engineer. Most of his time was spent improving software on Victory and Indian Motorcycles.
Currently, Horn is working on his second project in Roseau. He works with the snow group on equipment such as heated handgrips and wiring harness reviews.
“I get to drive motorcycles, razors, snowmobiles and four wheelers every week as part of our validation,” Horn said.
Off the job, Horn lives with his wife Erin and son Uriah. To stay involved with wrestling, Horn volunteers with the Roseau Rams wrestling team a few practices a week. He enjoys riding motorcycles and any other machine built by Polaris.
