Dear Alumni and Friends,
The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic upheaval is hitting St. Cloud State’s most vulnerable students especially hard.
The hospitality, retail and service sector jobs that employ many Huskies have laid off students and for many their reality has become very stark: do I eat or pay my rent?
To assist students faced with this awful choice, the St. Cloud State University Foundation is asking its community of alumni and friends to help by considering a gift in support of the Huskies Food Pantry or the Student Emergency Fund.
The gift you make now will find its way to students within a matter of days. No red tape. No bureaucratic obstacles. Just a lifeline to students at a time they need it most. To make your gift even more impactful, we’ve received a $15,000 matching gift challenge from Russ Hagen ‘64 – meaning every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000!
During this unprecedented time, we understand the challenges and sacrifices being made by you, our alumni and friends in Minnesota and throughout the U.S. and across the globe. Thank you for making a place in your heart for our most vulnerable Huskies.
GIVE NOW!
Sincerely,
Matt Andrew, Vice President of University Advancement
St. Cloud State University
PS: The Huskies Food Pantry has seen a dramatic spike in demand since this situation began, so the need is real and urgent. If you’re looking for a way to have an immediate impact, this is how.
Since SCSU professors seem to be so liberal, how about they contribute 10 percent of their wages to assist their students.
Hey SCSU, thanks for taking up this great initiative. I have question regarding donation receipt, My employer will match the donations that I made to foundations. Can I get the receipt for donation I made so that I can use it as proof of payment while requesting donation matching from my employer?
I will forward your question onto the University Foundation and ask them to respond to you in email.
