St. Cloud State University’s Senior to Sophomore program earned reaccreditation this May from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).
St. Cloud State was among 19 institutions to earn accreditation this year. St. Cloud State is one of 116 accredited programs in 24 states.
Receiving NACEP accreditation means an institution has met the nation’s most rigorous standard across multiple, multifaceted program areas.
“NACEP management accreditation demonstrates a commitment to academic integrity and the delivery of an authentic college experience to high school students and is a goal that every concurrent enrollment program should aspire to and work towards,” said Amy Williams, NACEP executive director.
Programs that earn accreditation meet established best practices in concurrent enrollment in the areas of curriculum, faculty, students, assessment, partnership and program evaluations.
“This accreditation reaffirms the high quality of work that all of our partners do every day to serve our students,” said Maria Wright, St. Cloud State Concurrent Enrollment director. “My team and I are honored to continue working alongside our St. Cloud State University and high school partners.”
St. Cloud State partners with 40-plus high schools to allow eligible students to earn college credit in their high school classrooms. Senior to Sophomore offers students college-level skills in critical thinking, writing, research and course management that help them transition to college, while also earning college credits that also count toward their high school graduation requirements.
Along with St. Cloud State, Minnesota State institutions Ridgewater College and Minnesota State College Southeast were among the nine institutions earning reaccreditation.
Among the 10 institutions earning initial accreditation were seven Minnesota State institutions including:
- Anoka Technical College
- Century College
- Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College
- Itasca Community College
- Minneapolis Community and Technical College
- South Central College
