Dr. Katherina Pattit is the new dean of the Herberger Business School.

Pattit comes to St. Cloud State from the University of St. Thomas, where she is a professor and department chair in the Ethics and Business Law Department. Pattit has served St. Thomas since 2008 with numerous leadership roles in strategic planning, launching a departmental advisory board with leaders of Fortune 500 companies, implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, and collaborating with Opus College of Business leadership to obtain a $900,000 grant from US Bank to develop a business ethics resource website for small and medium sized businesses.

She has a track record of active participation in her campus community, offering leadership and support to numerous committees focused on the student online experience, curriculum design, and learning assessment.

Pattit is an accomplished and internationally recognized academic with a substantial track record of publications in journals such as Business and Society, Journal of Business Ethics, and Economic Management, and Financial Markets. She serves the profession with varying leadership roles in the Academy of Management and the Society of Business Ethics, and holds a strong voice in the field through numerous invited speaking engagements and presentations. She is inspired by teaching and learning and is driven to support student success in the classroom and the school. Pattit has a Ph.D. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Diplom-Kauffrau (German equivalent of MBA) from Friedrich-Alexander University in Germany.

As Dean of the Herberger Business School, Pattit plays a pivotal role in setting strategic direction in alignment with the University’s It’s Time vision, strengthening the school’s distinctive programs, developing new initiatives to meet the needs of the many stakeholders it serves, and actively fostering impactful scholarship and creative endeavors.

She began her role at St. Cloud State July 1.

About Herberger Business School

St. Cloud State University’s Herberger Business School prepares students to be leaders in their field with nine business majors, an MBA program and a Master of Science in Information Assurance. Herberger Business School is one of only seven AACSB accredited business schools in Minnesota and also holds accreditation from the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET for its bachelor’s program in Information Systems. The school offers students a unique experience through the Husky Growth Fund managed by Finance students and the Professional Selling Institute, where students practice their selling skills in the Northwestern Mutual Professional Sales Lab.
