Film Professor Brad Chisholm is the recipient of two awards for teaching excellence and the Solon J. Buck Award for historical scholarship. He spends his summers tracking down the world’s oldest and rarest motion picture cameras in an effort to correct and clarify the cinema’s origin story. He discovered a previously unknown Minnesota connection to the birth of movies, and solved the mystery of a 1933 southern Minnesota bank robbery. He has taught over 20 different courses on cinema history topics including Silent Cinema, Animation History, and The Historical Re-enactment.
