St. Cloud State University’s Medical Clinic and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) have been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
Accreditation distinguishes St. Cloud State’s Medical Clinic and CAPS from many other outpatient facilities through their adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety. Only 11% of higher education medical clinics are accredited. During this round of accreditation, the counseling center was added as a service line and was reviewed for the first time by AAAHC.
What this accreditation means for St. Cloud State’s students and campus
St. Cloud State’s campus has a professionally recognized team and facility that delivers high-quality care. Status as an accredited organization means St. Cloud State has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of high-quality health care set by AAAHC and shows a commitment to high-quality care and patient safety.
During accreditation, an on-site surveyor ensures compliance and continuous improvement at the facility. Accredited agencies adopt policies and procedures that fuel ongoing quality in their services as well as self-evaluation. During the survey, best practices to help the organization improve its care and services are presented.
