Are you ready for lemonade, food, performances, vendors and much more? The Lemonade Concert and Fair will once again offer that and more this June.
In 2023, the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair will return to the St. Cloud State University campus while building onto the tradition of being one of SCSU’s best-known campus traditions and the opening of the St. Cloud Granite City Days community-wide event.
But this year, the fair is preparing for a big anniversary year when the festivities begin on June 22 while celebrating the 50th annual year of the fair taking place at SCSU.
“We hope that the fair this summer proves to be our best yet,” says Christa Hayes, organizer of the fair. “SCSU is excited to once again open our beautiful campus to the community, and provide a fun summer celebration for all ages.”
The art fair will take place from 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. followed by the Granite City Days Opening Ceremony from 7-7:30 p.m. in Ritsche Auditorium before a performance featuring the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Ritsche Auditorium.
This year’s fair will feature over 150 art vendors, musical artists, food trucks, Little Lemons Children’s Art Park, a live Chalk Art demonstration and more.
The art fair and food trucks can be found throughout the upper campus grounds, while the musical artists can be seen and heard in various locations throughout the day including the Atwood Mall, World Commons Stage and in front of Miller Center. The Little Lemons Children’s Art Park will feature The Paramount Arts District, Great River Children’s Museum and SCSU’s Husky Express.
The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra is also featuring the premier of a special performance “On Oak Crowned Banks” commemorating the 50th annual fair. The performance is composed by Michael Halstenson, commissioned by the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra and funded by a generous donor. Margaret Vos, retired Atwood Memorial Center Director, energetically volunteered to spearhead the coordination of this effort.
Free public parking will be available in K-Lot, with a shuttle running continuously to upper campus throughout he day. Parking for those with accessibility needs can be found in L Lot, which is across from the Atwood Memorial Center.
The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is managed by the SCSU Department of Campus Involvement. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
