St. Cloud State University is gearing up for Huskies First Four to welcome our incoming undergraduate students on Aug. 17-20 with four days of activities to meet new friends, get to know campus and start to explore what life as a Husky is like.
Huskies First Four is a four-day experience that annually serves as a welcome and orientation to new incoming students. It is intended to assist undergraduate students in developing skills and connections during their first few days on campus and throughout the first semester at SCSU. Students have the opportunity to pick up items for classes, visit classrooms, prepare for the start of the school year, win prizes and much more.
“Huskies First Four is the perfect opportunity for our new Huskies to build connections with their peers, staff and faculty,” said Katie Jackson, Associate Director of Orientation. “Pack Leaders (current students) will support our new Huskies through their Huskies First Four experience. There truly is something for everyone!”
The days are packed with academic programming, socials, recreational activities and more for students on campus and in the St. Cloud Community.
Activities kick off Aug. 17 with Move-In Day and New Huskies Convocation, followed by gatherings in various Residential Halls and a Movie on the Lawn outside Stewart Hall. On Aug. 18, students will be introduced to their Pack Leaders and will take part in event rotations and academic orientations before having the chance to watch and listen to comedian Eric O’Shea and attend Huskies Athletic events that evening.

Over the weekend, students will meet with their orientation groups, take part in Huskies Stories and can have dinner with SCSU President Robbyn Wacker on Aug. 19, followed by evening programming off campus at the Skatin’ Place. To round out the first four days on Aug. 20, Huskies can join the SCSU Orientation Team for a gathering in Munsinger Gardens, attend a Student Organization Meet and Greet, enjoy the annual Ice Cream Social and more.
