St. Cloud State University’s Department of Mathematics & Statistics and Department of Computer Science & Information Technology jointly hosted their annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Oct. 24 in the Atwood Memorial Center on campus, awarding $66,500 to SCSU students.
The annual scholarships ceremony is held each fall at SCSU, announcing and celebrating scholarship recipients that consist of students in their undergraduate major and minor programs within the two departments.
This year, a total of 29 students received scholarships, 26 undergraduate and three graduate students. Since 1974, the two departments have awarded nearly 1,400 scholarships totaling nearly $770,000. The scholarship program is supported by donations from alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the departments, during the annual mathematics contest, and from area business and industry partners.
