St. Cloud State University and the surrounding community honored the life, legacy and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the annual MLK Community Celebration in January.
The 12th annual community event, with the theme of “Our Beloved Community: Our Work is Not Done Yet” was led by SCSU and the City of St. Cloud along with community partners.
Events began Jan. 13 with a MLK Family Celebration held at SCSU, followed by a praise and worship celebration on Jan. 14 at the Jubilee Worship Center in St. Cloud. View photos from the MLK Family Celebration.
The signature event, the annual MLK Breakfast, occurred Jan. 15 on MLK Day featuring a breakfast and program held at the River’s Edge Convention Center in downtown St. Cloud. The program included the announcement of the winners of the MLK Humanitarian Award and Dexter R. Stanton Essay & Visual Art Content, as well as live music, community conversation and a keynote address by Lee Hawkins. View the entire event by visiting the MLK Community Celebration website.
The 2024 MLK Community Celebration concluded Jan. 17 with an MLK Movie Night at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud.
