Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to inform you of a personnel change. Today, Abbey Zink, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, resigned from her position at the University effective immediately.
Provost Zink has served the University for just over a year, playing a key leadership role in advancing our It’s Time framework for the future of St. Cloud State University. She has led the Academic Affairs division through the tough restructuring of academic programs, and I know she will be missed on campus.
Katherina Pattit, Dean of the Herberger Business School, has agreed to serve as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs effective August 1, 2024. Dr. Pattit joined the University as Dean of the Herberger Business School in 2022, and has demonstrated exceptional strategic leadership that will help guide the Academic Affairs division.
I am excited by the prospect of Dr. Pattit’s leadership, and I look forward to working closely with her over the coming months as we define the future of St. Cloud State.
Plans for a nation-wide search for a permanent Provost are underway and updates will be provided as they become available.
Sincerely,
Larry H. Dietz
Interim President
