46th annual KVSC Trivia Weekend starts Feb. 14

KVSC radio station will hold their 46th annual Trivia Weekend on Feb. 14-16.

This year’s theme for the 50-hour trivia marathon is Trick-or-Trivia. KVSC’s first trivia weekend began in 1980, and about 50 teams participate in the annual event.

KVSC Station Manager Dan Seeger said that Trivia Weekend is a powerful way for the on-campus station to connect with the St. Cloud community and the contestants that participate around the globe.

“Besides just being a lot of fun, Trivia Weekend is an amazing community builder,” Seeger said. “That’s true for the KVSC and SCSU alumni who come back every year to help us run it, for the volunteers who give so much of their time to answering phones that weekend, and for the teams that treat it like the perfect excuse for a friends or family reunion. I think that’s why the contest has endured into its 46th year.”

Student teams can sign up for free, and registration is open until 3 p.m. on Feb. 14. There are also still opportunities to volunteer to help as a phone operator for the event.

Trivia Weekend runs from 5 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday, when a new champion will be crowned. Stefan’s Dream has won the past six installments of Trivia Weekend.
