St. Cloud Times – Bill Morgan arrived in St. Cloud around the time that the Carnegie Library, the Saffron House and a group of Victorian houses on the south side were being torn down.
Morgan came from Florida to St. Cloud State University in 1978 to teach American Studies. Before retiring, he would take students into neighborhoods to identify building styles. Soon he started doing it for the public. At age 82, he still does an annual Fifth Avenue Tour and lectures on preservation and the history of buildings in the St. Cloud area. As a St. Cloud Times columnist, he teaches the public about the area’s architectural history.
