Arkansas Online — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has named Tim Hill ’82 vice chancellor for Regional Programs, the school said Thursday.
Hill, of Maumelle, served in the position on an interim basis after previous vice chancellor Mark Mengel retired in May. Hill will officially succeed Mengel on Saturday, the school said.
Regional Programs has eight centers located in Batesville, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Helena, Jonesboro, Magnolia, Pine Bluff and Texarkana.
Hill was director of the UAMS Center for Healthcare Enhancement and Development since 2013, and before that he was director of the UAMS Center for Rural Health. He was president and CEO of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison from 1998 to 2009.
Hill, who in 1982 earned a bachelor’s degree in business, finance and accounting from St. Cloud State University, has more than 30 years of health care finance and operational management experience, UAMS said in a news release.
