SCSU to host Minnesota Hip Hop Education Summit on Nov. 3

The Minnesota Hip Hop and Education Summit returns to St. Cloud State University in November, bringing together industry professionals, enthusiasts, educators and scholars of all ages to celebrate and explore the vibrant culture of hip hop.

The one-day conference will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the Atwood Memorial Center at SCSU, providing attendees with a one-of-a-kind professional development experience and a platform to discuss, showcase and inspire innovation within the realms of music, dance, fashion, visual arts and socio-cultural impact.

SCSU Campus Recreation to visit five national parks in 2024 on Spring Break Trip

St. Cloud State University Campus Recreation invites all SCSU students to travel the country during the annual Spring Break Trip in 2024.

From February 29 to March 10, students can travel West to explore five national parks, including stops at the Cascade Mountain Range, Seattle, Pacific Coast, Redwoods, Golden Gate Bridge and more.

St. Cloud State hosts Homecoming 2023 on Oct. 2-7

St. Cloud State University hosted the University’s biggest red and black celebration of the year, Homecoming 2023, on Oct. 2-7 with special events for students, families, prospective students, faculty and staff, alumni, community members and more.

SCSU held several events throughout the week to unite our Huskies on campus, reconnect with old friends, create new memories, relive the nostalgia of Homecoming and celebrate what it means to be a Husky.

Submissions open for 2023 Miller Center Student Art Show

Any current St. Cloud State University student interested in submitting art work to be included in the annual Miller Center Student Art Show can do so now through Nov. 3. The show, sponsored by the St. Cloud State Library and the Art Student Union, showcases juried student art and provides interested students the opportunity to organize, advertise and put on an art show.

SCSU students are eligible to enter two pieces of art, which can be dropped off at the University Library’s circulation desk on the first floor of the Miller Center.

St. Cloud State University’s Student Accessibility Services welcomes SCSU students, faculty and staff and the surrounding community to join in celebration of Disability & Access Week from Oct. 9-13.

In solidarity with the disabled community, SCSU and Student Accessibility Services is hosting multiple events on campus during the week while promoting our commitment of being inclusive and accessible University through inclusive practices, language and attitudes that honors and values everyone.

Kiehle Gallery announces ‘Crystal Hinge’ exhibit Oct. 2-26

A new exhibit “Crystal Hinge” opens Oct. 2 in the Kiehle Gallery on the St. Cloud State University campus.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 26 and is the first solo exhibition by emerging artist Lisa Kill. Kill’s work is interdisciplinary and found objects and papers are subjected to inks, washes, stains, solvents, salts and household chemicals.

St. Cloud State University hosted prospective students interested in a career in television or radio broadcasting on campus Sept. 28 for the annual Be the Broadcaster event.

Be the Broadcaster offered students and their families the opportunity to visit campus, learn more about SCSU’s award-winning broadcasting program and tour the state-of-the-art facilities on campus.

SCSU students connect with local employers during annual Career Day

St. Cloud State University held its annual Career Day on Sept. 20 in the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom, giving students the opportunity to connect and network with companies and employers looking to hire.

SCSU students of all levels and majors interacted and met with representatives from over 75 companies while gaining exposure to a broad spectrum of career paths such as internships, full-time and part-time positions, and more.

Minnesota Secretary of State visits SCSU to speak about importance of voting

St. Cloud State University welcomed Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon to campus on Sept. 18 to speak to students, faculty, staff and the community about the importance of voting and being civically involved within the state of Minnesota.

Secretary Simon presented to campus about why people should vote, how they can register to vote and what the process is to vote while engaging young voters and expressing to everyone the importance of having their voice heard.
