St. Cloud State is ramping up its sesquicentennial year of celebration by unveiling its 150th mark, website and signature events on the eve of the anniversary of Ira Moore being elected St. Cloud State University’s first president.
St. Cloud State will begin celebrating its sesquicentennial in fall 2018 with a year of events leading up to its 150th birthday on Sept. 15, 2019, the anniversary of the first day of classes in 1869.
A group of graduate students, along with their professor, are exploring St. Cloud State’s history from a different perspective in the wake of its 150th anniversary.
Three lighted signs are a collaboration among the Alumni Association, the Foundation and Lawrence Sign, St. Paul.
St. Cloud State will re-envision the university’s premier fall celebration as St. Cloud State Homecoming in fall 2018 as part of its sesquicentennial celebration. Planning is underway for Homecoming on Oct. 17-21, 2018 during the university’s sesquicentennial year of events September 2018-2019. St. Cloud State turns 150 on Sept. 15, 2019.
