College Hockey News — When the National Collegiate Hockey Conference started taking shape, the athletic directors and coaches of the member programs believed they assembled a league capable of becoming the best conference in Division I hockey.
In just its second season, the NCHC is close to sending six of its eight teams to the NCAA tournament. Five seems to be locks. The sixth, St. Cloud State, has overcome an uneven start to the season to surge back into the meat of the Pairwise and the league standings.
