St. Cloud Times — In Central Minnesota, one in 10 people experience food insecurity — they miss meals because they don’t have the needed money or resources.
Attendees at a United Way of Central Minnesota event Wednesday afternoon learned just that, and much more, in an effort to improve the situation in the area.

Tracy Ore, a St. Cloud State University sociology professor, said it’s about much more than just making a different personal choice. It’s about structures.
“If you want a healthy community, we need to do something,” she said.
