HOMETOWN: HUTCHINSON, MINNESOTA | MAJOR: FINE ARTS, INTEGRATED MEDIA

I enlisted in the Marine Corps post 9-11 and went to Pensacola, Florida, to be trained to fix F-18 jets. For three-and-a-half years, I traveled all over the world. Wherever those jets went– I went. Having those experiences, I bring a global perspective to St. Cloud State, especially to the art department and the art community. I also bring an unfiltered reality of what is happening overseas which I hope to recreate in my art and academics, through the lens of myself.

After graduation, I hope to work with a veteran’s non-profit organization such as Save a Warrior. Ultimately, I’d like to get a master’s degree in rehabilitation therapy. My dream job would be using my background in art and music and work in a veteran’s hospital, helping vets.

“After visiting with several veterans on St. Cloud State’s campus we felt that more should be done to repay them for the sacrifices they have made on behalf of our country. We support scholarships for veterans because it has a direct and immediate impact on their lives.”
