St. Cloud Times — A unique collaboration among local colleges is prompting the creation of original speeches for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
An organizer said it’s a way for participants to engage colleges and surrounding communities and for everyone to consider King’s messages in a modern context.
The first Intercollegiate MLK Oratory Contest will award parts of $1,000 to the top three submitters of five-minute videos. It’s open to current students and graduates of the last year from the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University, St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud Technical & Community College, Rasmussen College, Minnesota School of Business, College of St. Scholastica and the Model College of Hair Design.
