Huskies Scholarships
Following the success of the first year of the Huskies Scholarship program, St. Cloud State University Foundation and the Financial Aid Office are preparing to launch the next round of the online application, review and awards system.
During the first half of the debut season (January-June 2015), more than 3,600 students used Huskies Scholarships to apply for scholarships and more than $686,000 was offered to students for fall 2015/spring 2016. Additional scholarships were offered through the system this fall.
As students complete the general application online, they’ll be “auto-matched” to appropriate scholarships. They also may be invited to apply to other “recommended” scholarships for which they may qualify if they submit additional information (essays, transcripts, references, etc.). There are more than 530 Huskies Scholarships available.
Students signing-in with a Star ID can:
- View and search scholarships
- Apply and accept scholarships
- Submit additional information for select scholarships
- Submit thank-you letters to donors
Parents and community members can view and search scholarships without signing-in.
Faculty scholarship committees can review and score qualified applications, select recipients and offer scholarships through the system. Training and support for review committees is provided by the SCSU Foundation and the Financial Aid Office with additional localized support available through Experiential Learning and Outreach Coordinators and Student Relations Coordinators in schools, colleges, student life and athletics.
Newly admitted students will continue to receive scholarships through the Office of Admissions system and may also apply for scholarships offered in Huskies Scholarships.
