The Twin Cities Metro Transit police officer and associate of arts graduate was part of a social function marking Ramadan, a Muslim month of fasting that commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. Mohamed, 23, is seated opposite the president, wearing her brass badge and dark-blue hijab.
