St. Cloud Times — The Paramount Gallery and Gifts shop is joining in on a popular trend: adult coloring books.
“Coloring’s really big right now, and we thought St. Cloud needed to have our own coloring book,” said Ellen Nelson, who works there.
The store’s project also solved a problem: Many people had asked for postcards of St. Cloud, but the shop didn’t carry any.
So St. Cloud coloring postcards were born. Six local artists volunteered to create black-and-white drawings of iconic places around Central Minnesota. A customer can then color in the pictures.

Dan Mondloch ’07, Jim Poff, Barbara Rogan, Lou Tollefson, Flora Shinkle and Elly Van Diest created the artwork.

For example, Poff taught at College of St. Benedict’s/St. John’s University, so he did two scenes from those campuses. Mondloch, who attended St. Cloud State University, drew the postcard scene from that campus.
