SCSUHuskies.com — Seven St. Cloud State student-athletes will compete in the NCAA D-II Wrestling Championships March 11-13 in Sioux Falls.
They are Brett Velasquez (125), Matt Nelson (141), Jay Hildreth (149), Clint Poster (165), Clayton Jennissen (174), Uthman Rabiu (184) and Austin Goergen (285).
The Huskies finished second in team scoring at the NCAA Division II Super 3 Regional Feb. 27-28 in Sioux Falls. They were led by Poster, a senior from Pierz, who won the title at 165-pounds and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. Also earning first-place finishes were Velasquez, Hildreth and Goergen.
Goergen, a junior from Caledonia, owns a 36-1 record and will be making his third trip to nationals.
