St. Cloud State University celebrated the opening of St. Cloud State at Plymouth, the university’s graduate center, with a social and program.

Students have been studying at the center since January and this was the first opportunity for the public to get a look at the facility, which includes a conference room, breakout rooms, student lounge and additional spaces encourage collaboration and enable technology integration.

Guests toured the facility, viewed promotional videos for the programs and engaged in conversations learning about the programs offered at St. Cloud State at Plymouth.

Speaking before the more than 100 guests in attendance, St. Cloud State Interim President Ashish Vaidya, Plymouth Mayor Kelli Slavik, Herberger Business School Dean Dave Harris and Interim Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Education Latha Ramakrishnan celebrated the center’s opening.

Among the attendees were Plymouth City Councilors Jeffry Wosje, Jim Prom and Ned Carroll and Plymouth Economic Development Manager Danette Parr.

Interim Provost Dan Gregory said that the goal for St. Cloud State at Plymouth is to give students the skills they need to be competitive in a worldwide market with a focus on meeting Minnesota’s workforce demands.

St. Cloud State at Plymouth offers graduate programs in educational administration, applied clinical research, regulatory affairs and services, medical technology quality, business administration and engineering management.

The university previously offered these programs at the Twin Cities Graduate Center in Maple Grove, which closed after fall semester 2016.
