The exhibit is part of the School of the Arts’ 2016-17 Creative Art Series. The 11 events in the third-annual series are designed to expand students’ experiences and the public’s perspectives by introducing them to new concepts and perceptions in the School of the Arts four disciplines — art, film, theater and music.
The art department sponsors the Student Art Exhibit each spring to give students a chance to enter their works in a professional juried show. The School of the Arts purchases a portion of the student works to include in the art department’s collection, allowing students to learn about how to price works of art.
The opening ceremony includes an awards ceremony and presentation of art department scholarships.
The exhibit will be open until May 12. The gallery is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
