Aberdeen man’s ‘surprising’ induction into the Indoor Football League Hall of Fame

Aberdeen News — Aberdeen native Cory Johnsen wasn’t expecting to be elected to the Indoor Football League (IFL) Hall of Fame.

“I’m a nose tackle in an offensive league, so to say I’m surprised is pretty accurate,” Johnsen said.

An all-stater in high school for the Golden Eagles before enrolling at St. Cloud State (MInn.) University in the fall of 2001, Johnsen played 10 seasons for the IFL’s Sioux Falls Storm. He is the team’s all-time leader in sacks with 64 1/2, and helped his team to an overall record of 150-16.
