Three former Husky athletes earned recognition in their communities or advancement for efforts in their chosen fields.
Former St. Cloud State University softball standout Lizzy Dwyer ’11 was recently recognized by the Daily Inter Lake and the Kalispell Chamber Commerce as one of their “20 Under 40” award winners.
The award is presented to the top 20 young professionals in the Flathead Valley area of Montana. The winners were selected from more than 130 nominations representing 99 young professionals. Dwyer was among three award winners selected from the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana She was at KRMC as a Charge Nurse, Medical Surgery Oncology.
She played softball from the Huskies from 2007-10.
Former St. Cloud State University wrestler Cody Paulsen, who wrestled with the Huskies from 2010-14, was recently recognized by TED Magazine as a 30-under-35 industry leader. The award presented by TED Magazine, a national trade publication for the electrical supply industry, recognizes up and coming young professionals in the business who will be leaders in the future.
Paulsen works for Crescent Electric in Minneapolis and was recently promoted to switchgear quotation specialist.
Former St. Cloud State softball standout Jamie Trachsel ’02 has been named as the new head coach for the softball team at the University of Minnesota. She previously served as a coach at Iowa State and North Dakota State prior to her move to Minnesota.
Trachsel played softball for the Huskies from 1998 to 2001 and helped St. Cloud State win an North Central Conference title in 1998 and gain three consecutive NCAA tournament bids from 1998 to 2000.
