Eden Prairie News — Curt Tryggestad ’89 ’15 would not have minded remaining the superintendent of Eden Prairie Schools. He lives in Eden Prairie and plans to keep living in the city.
That said, his background in music instruction and as a longtime school administrator makes him a good fit for the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley.
“Being able to combine the two is a unique way to perhaps end my career,” he said.
Curt Tryggestad, 59, served as Eden Prairie superintendent for five years. He presently is the 2017 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year, an award given by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators.
He started in education in 1981 as a band director for students in fifth through 12th grades in Hinckley, halfway between the Twin Cities and Duluth. He worked there for 10 years and, by 1991, earned his master’s degree in music from St. Cloud State University.
