Students spent 48 hours this April coming up with solutions, building prototypes and preparing presentations in St. Cloud State University’s second Huskies Invent.

Coldspring served as industry partners and mentors from the company presented four challenges faced in their work and invited students to develop solutions in the invent-a-thon.

St. Cloud State and Coldspring experts spent the whole weekend aiding teams in developing their designs and finalizing their presentations.

College of Science and Engineering buildings were open round the clock for students to use equipment and prototyping and fabrication labs as they came up with their solutions and the prototypes of their ideas. Mentors from Coldspring and faculty from a variety of disciplines served as support through it all.

The event concluded Sunday evening with each team giving a formal presentation on their solution to a panel of Coldspring experts.

“Coldspring and our communities have a need and that need is for qualified engineers and dedicated employees,” said Ray Jaeger, of Coldspring. “… Huskies Invent seems to have the solution that fits well with the company and the community.”
