SCSU, SCTCC graduations canceled in wake of coronavirus

ST. CLOUD TIMES — St. Cloud State University students hoping to walk across the stage for spring commencement May 8 have yet another event to cross off their calendar.

All in-person graduation ceremonies have been canceled for schools within the Minnesota State system in response to the novel coronavirus health crisis, according to an email sent Wednesday by St. Cloud State President Robbyn Wacker.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College is also a part of this system.

“(I) can’t imagine what you all might be feeling or experiencing,” SCTCC President Annesa Cheek said in a video shared Thursday on Twitter. “I had that moment and I cherished that moment, and to know that we will not be able to create that moment for you is disappointing.”
