St. Cloud State University celebrated Spring 2022 graduates in six commencement ceremonies on May 6.
About 1,000 students out of almost 1,300 total graduates participated in Commencement ceremonies throughout the day, with graduates coming from 25 U.S. states and 47 countries. Participating in the commencement ceremonies were 34 associate degree earners, 886 bachelor’s degree earners and 366 graduate students.
Graduates earning Honors cords include 119 earning Summa Cum Laude, 152 earning Magna Cum Laude and 152 earning Cum Laude.
Ceremonies were being held in Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall and livestreamed at our Commencement website.
President Robbyn Wacker, Vice President Jason Woods and Provost Dan Gregory were among the faculty and staff assisting with the ceremonies and celebration of graduates. Student Government President Milan Raj Paswan also assisted with the ceremonies.
“Just think about what you have accomplished since your first day as a Husky. You have become a graduate prepared for success in your chosen field,” President Wacker said. “I want to congratulate you and tell you how proud I am of you. This class of graduates will always hold a special place in my heart because of your excellence, your resilience and your perseverance.
“It has been a privilege to have you be part of our St. Cloud State community and for me to be your president. Congratulations, and go Huskies!”
Economics major and 2022 graduate Hannah Mayhew provided the student address at the first four ceremonies from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., while Master of Social Work graduate Gabriela Nelson gave the student address at the 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. ceremonies. Alumni Association Associate Director John Brown shared alumni remarks.
“You, our proud Husky graduates, have continued the tradition of greatness. And graduates, you truly deserve to own your own greatness,” Vice President Woods said. “You achieved this mission and we are so proud of you.”
