St. Cloud State University has been honored by Colleges of Distinction in nine categories for the 2024-25 school year, including earning the inaugural International College of Distinction award.
SCSU’s long history of providing stellar support for international students was recognized with the International College of Distinction accolade, which was awarded to institutions for the first time in 2024-25. The International Badge also acknowledges the school’s efforts in offering academic resources that promote success.
“Our Colleges of Distinction have always been noted for their hands-on approach to undergraduate education,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer of Colleges of Distinction. “SCSU has shown that it prioritizes the success of all of its students, from those in its state to those coming from around the world.”
SCSU is home to international students from 80 countries across the globe. It is also one of the leading universities in Minnesota for international students, with over 1,500 international students calling SCSU home in 2023.
“We recognize the importance of building strong relationships and a supportive community,” added Shahzad Ahmad, Associate Vice President of Center for International Studies. “This award reflects our commitment to nurturing the growth and success of every student on our campus.”
SCSU earned accolades in nine categories from Colleges of Distinction, including education, nursing, engineering and business, which are all in-demand fields that SCSU offers hands-on experiences for students to be prepared for the future workforce.
