Student veterans, athletes and Fighting Saints Battalion members pulled together to help a local veteran move when they received a call for help from the Warrior to Citizen Committee.

The St. Cloud State University Veterans Resource Center gets requests from the committee a few times a year to help veterans or the families of deployed soldiers move, but the call in late September was their biggest job yet, said Zac Mangas, St. Cloud State Veterans Resource Center director.
A local disabled veteran was set to move, but he was having a difficult time packing his belongings.
Student volunteers from the Veterans Living Community, the Fighting Saints Battalion, the St. Cloud State Baseball team and other student veterans stepped up to help out. They spent three days helping the veteran pack his belongings and move them to his new residence in Watkins, Mangas said.
“They did a great job,” he said.
The Warrior to Citizen Campaign is an organization in Minnesota dedicated to providing support for returning veterans and their families. The committee is made up of St. Cloud area organizations, employers and legislators who meet to assist veterans and the families of deployed soldiers.
