Jennifer Mueller, a faculty member and chair for the Early Childhood Education program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will serve as the dean of the School of Education beginning July 1.
Mueller brings more than twenty years of experience in teaching both at the elementary and college levels, and more than six years of administrative experience in higher education.
“With the existing strong reputation for high quality educator preparation, I’m eager to jump in and both support and move that work forward,” Mueller said.
A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Mueller will initially be focused on collaborating with the faculty, staff and students of the School of Education to enhance student success. In addition, she will continue to build relationships with external partners that are critical to the school’s success.
“(There are) a lot of great people doing really great work at St. Cloud State, with so many opportunities to grow,” Mueller said. “I’m also very excited to connect with students to focus on their campus experience and in helping them fulfill all of their amazing potential.”
Mueller obtained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Educational Foundations and Policy, and a doctorate in Educational Studies – Teacher Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
“Her proven track record of success and leadership in higher education, and curriculum and instruction will serve St. Cloud State, the School of Education and its employees well,” said Dan Gregory, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Mueller succeeds Steve Hoover who served as interim dean for two years.
