The Society of Electro Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) has released a recording featuring a composition by St. Cloud State University alumna Olga Oseth ’12. Oseth’s composition “Shapes of Each Other” is one of the tracks featured on “Music from SEAMUS Volume 26.”
Oseth’s native country is Ukraine, where she started piano lessons at the age of 5.
Oseth attended St. Cloud State and received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance and her Bachelor of the Arts in new media and composition. She then received her Master of Music in intermedia music technology from the University of Oregon and is working toward her Doctoral of Musical Arts in data driven instrument performance.
Oseth is an interactive media composer/performer, pianist and accompanist. Oseth’s works have been performed at SEAMUS, KISS and WIMT conferences. Her appearance on this recording was the result of a nomination from her peers in SEAMUS.
Oseth isn’t the only connection between St. Cloud State and SEAMUS. Scott Miller, who is a faculty member in the music department, is serving as SEAMUS president.
