From top to bottom, the production of “Clue: The Musical” is a St. Cloud State affair.
The sold-out GREAT Theatre dinner show runs runs April 27-May 20 at the Helgeson Learning Lab Theatre.
“Clue: The Musical” invites the audience to help solve a mystery: Who killed Mr. Boddy? In which room? With which weapon?
The Waite Park theater is named for wife-and-husband donors Karel (Schmit) Helgeson ’78 and Mike Helgeson. GREAT’s managing director is Lacey (Gartland) Schirmers ’05.
Creative leaders for “Clue: The Musical” are director David Symalla ’11 and music director Dru (Bullis) Faith ’76.
The show meal, which centers on lemon rosemary chicken breast with herb cream sauce, is prepared by Custom Catering by Short Stop, owned by Byron Bjorklund ’85. Among the servers is Brandi Richards-Berger ’97 and Kenny Johnson, a mass communications major Ham Lake.
Of the eight primary cast members, six graduated from St. Cloud State and two are also employees;
- Tanya (Murphy) Peterick ’16 | Mrs. White
- Matt Amundson ’07 | Mr. Green
- Allison (Williams) Legg ’11 | Miss Scarlett
- Matt Borgert-Spaniol ’15 | Colonel Mustard
- Matt Trombley ’97, associate director, Atwood Memorial Center | Mr. Boddy
- Adam Hammer ’05, executive director of marketing and communications | Professor Plum
Based on the Parker Brothers’ board game, the show’s book was written by Peter DePietro. The music was created by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker and Vinnie Martucci. Tom Chiodo wrote the lyrics.
