St. Cloud State President Robbyn Wacker and Student Government President Surkhel Yousafzai share their tips for staying safe this Spring Break by testing before and after travel or choosing to take a staycation.
Here is the full set of travel-related tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
Test no more than 3 days before
- If you test negative

- Take precautions to protect yourself and others from getting COVID-19
If you test positive
- Do not travel
- Immediately isolate yourself
- Follow public health recommendations
Test 3-5 days after travel
If you test negative
- Stay home for 7 days and self-quarantine
- Watch for symptoms of COVID-19
- Take precautions and protect others
If you test positive
- Do not travel
- Immediately isolate yourself
- Follow public health recommendations
- If you don’t get tested
- Stay home for 10 days and self-quarantine
- Watch for symptoms of COVID-19
- Take precautions to protect others
If you fly to the United States from a foreign country, you must provide a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding your flight.
These general tips are based on travel guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You should follow community guidelines from your local health department, and if you are sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick or has COVID-19 symptoms — stay home and away from others.
Please be sure to travel safe, and … hang in there Huskies! Remember that we are all in this together.
COVID-19 testing is available on campus on March 3 (Huskies Connect) and March 15 (Huskies Connect) in Atwood Ballroom.
