St. Cloud State University Planetarium is teaming up with St. Cloud Parks & Recreation to host “Stars & S’mores” from 7:30-9 p.m. Oct. 8 in Wilson Park.
The event features St. Cloud State professors from the College of Science and Engineering teaching participants about the night sky and the celestial objects that can be seen with our own eyes. Participants will make their own planisphere, a hand-held device showing a map of the stars visible in the night sky at different times of the night and year.
SCSU Planetarium will also have telescopes on hand for participants to view the stars and planets.
The event is limited to 35 participants. Pre-registration is required. Register at Parks & Registration’s Special Events page.
St. Cloud State Planetarium offers day shows open to classes, organizations and educational groups. The Planetarium has served as an educational facility to bring knowledge of the stars to students and community members since 1973.
