The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is one of St. Cloud State University’s best-known campus traditions and marks the opening of the St. Cloud’s Granite City Days community-wide event. The event returned to campus on June 22 for the 50th annual year of the family-friendly summer event.
This year’s event included over 150 art vendors, musical artists, food stands, children’s activities and a St. Cloud State booth spread throughout campus. The fair welcomed back many long-time vendors as well as new vendors who have never been displayed at the event.
Among other features of the fair included the Little Lemons Children’s Art Park will feature The Paramount Arts District, Great River Children’s Museum and SCSU’s Husky Express.
The fair, which marks the opening of the St. Cloud Granite City Days community-wide event, concluded with a performance by the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra which premiered a special performance “On Oak Crowned Banks” commemorating the 50th annual fair. The performance was composed by Michael Halstenson, commissioned by the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra and funded by a generous donor.
SCSU’s Department of Campus Involvement annually manages the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
